Botox/Dysport vs. Fillers: Which Is Right For You?

Whether or not Botox/Dysport or Fillers are the preferred method of wrinkle removal is based on the individual needs of the patient being treated. Here is a breakdown of some differences between the treatments:

Botox/Dysport:

  • Treated by muscle relaxation through purified protein injections

  • Focuses more on areas around the forehead and eyes

  • Lasts for roughly 3-6 months

Fillers:

  • Treated through injectable implants

  • Focuses more on areas around the mouth and cheeks

  • Lasts for roughly 12-18 months

Dr. P Mark Neal MD, FAAD is originally from Thibodaux, Louisiana. He attended LSU in Baton Rouge receiving a degree in Biology and later completing medical school at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. Dr. Neal completed his dermatology residency at Tulane Hospital and served as a chief resident.
