An American Board of Dermatology certified physician and committed advocate for skin cancer awareness and prevention, Dr. Alexis Duke, MD, FAAD, brings over a decade of dermatological innovation and expertise to patients across the Houma community. Establishing Duke Neal Medical in 2019, she specializes in extensive areas of medical dermatology, including diagnosis and treatment of the most common types of skin cancer, acne, psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, atopic dermatitis, hair loss, rashes, warts, and molluscum, as well as cosmetic dermatological services like botox and fillers.
Dr. Duke’s education and training began in the heart of the Bayou Region, where she graduated summa cum laude from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Med Biological Sciences, earning a 4.0 GPA and the university’s President’s Award.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine from LSU Health New Orleans School of Medicine before entering an internship year at Earl K Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge. While at LSU Health New Orleans, Dr. Duke was a proud member of the Alpha Omega Honor Society and a recipient of the Henry Jolly Award from the Department of Dermatology for exemplifying the qualities of an excellent physician and dermatologist.
Dr. Duke completed her residency with LSU’s Dermatology Residency Program in 2011, earning hands-on training and experience through time spent between LSU’s premier clinics in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
From there, she spent six years as the Chief of Dermatology at Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center in Houma before entering private practice in 2017 and subsequently opening Duke Neal Medical in 2019.
Dr. Duke is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. A strong advocate for annual skin screening exams and a proactive approach to skin health, she takes great pride in working with Terrebonne General Health System as a consulting physician to raise skin cancer awareness in the Houma community.
